FABRIC Workshop on Deployment Scenarios for dynamic charging of electric vehicles

June 19, 2017 ǁ Strasbourg

The FABRIC consortium is glad to invite you to its Workshop focusing on Deployment Scenarios for Dynamic Charging of Electric Vehicles. The Workshop will be held in conjunction with the 12th Intelligent Transport Systems European Congress at the city of Strasbourg (Palais de la Musique et des Congrès), on Monday 19 June 2017 at 10:00 to 13:15, prior to the opening of this very important even for the international ITS community.

As FABRIC is currently entering its assessment phase the basic aim of this workshop is to improve and validate the different deployment scenarios for the most promising on-road EV charging (dynamic charging) solutions as defined by the FABRIC partnership during its three and a half years of leading research. The dynamic charging solutions analysed by FABRIC are mainly focusing on wireless inductive charging, but conductive charging is also considered. The different scenarios covered, include inter-urban motorways, but also urban and peri-urban traffic consisting of light vehicles, heavy duty trucks and buses.

By attending our workshop you will learn more about the initial project findings and network with project partners and other experts in the area of electromobility. In addition, you will have the chance to thoroughly discuss the market opportunities for dynamic charging, the initial business models, identify related market niches and thus actively contribute to the final outcomes of the project. The feasibility analysis conducted by FABRIC considers all technical, economic, safety and health impacts on the way to the market for this challenging technology, hence the Workshop will discuss all these aspects.

The Workshop draft agenda is available here (pdf).

We aim to gather economic, technical and policy stakeholders and representatives from public authorities, the automotive industry, road and transport operators, electromobility and ICT service providers, research institutes, user groups, energy suppliers and distributors so as to validate with them the most likely roadmap for the deployment of road charging technologies for EVs.

No participation fees are foreseenas the Workshop is not part of the official ITS European Congress programme, but for attending our event your registration is mandatory.  Please reserve your participation by sending us your personal details (full name, job title and affiliation, your main activity/relation with the area of on-road charging or electromobility in general and your contact details) at the following email address: by  Monday 5 June 2017 the latest. Your registration will be confirmed via email.
We will be more than pleased to welcome you in Strasbourg, on 19 June 2017!
