A number of Self-Standing Roll-Up Banners were produced on the occasion of the FABRIC Final Event and Demonstration, in Turin and Susa (Italy), on 21-22 June 2018. These posters present in short the work conducted and the results achieved in the different Work Package of the project. The Roll-Up Banners were part of the Final Event exhibition that was held in parallel with the Final Conference on the 21^st of June, in Politecnico di Torino and of the smaller exhibition that was available to all demonstration participants in Susa, on the 22nd of June, during the breaks.

In this section, the PDF files of the Final Event banners are available for download. The banners are divided in three different areas, in accordance with the type of activities presented in each of them.

Final Event and Demonstration: Results and Documentation

After four and a half years of research and development, the FABRIC EU-funded project concluded its activities at the end of June 2018 having achieved important results and innovations in the field of dynamic wireless charging for Electric Vehicles. On June 21-22, 2018, the consortium presented the results of its research work during a dedicated Final event and demonstration that was successfully organised in Turin and Susa, Italy. About 140 registered participants from automotive industries, suppliers, solution providers, road operators, research institutes and universities had the opportunity to attend the event and discuss in depth the project advances.

During the first day of the final event project results were unveiled in details through a number of technical presentations that took place in the framework of a specialised conference. Three sessions and one Round table discussion focused on the research results and innovative technological achievements of the project. The speakers’ presentations dealt with the FABRIC developed charging solutions and prototypes, the ICT needs and developments in FABRIC for on-road charging, the FABRIC demonstration of on-road charging solutions for EVs and feasibility analysis results for the technological viability of such solutions.

The conference was supplemented by a parallel exhibition through which the FABRIC partners showed their work and conclusions using videos and posters at specific slots during the conference breaks. In total 17 technical posters were presented which are available below.

Guided tours and live demonstrations were organised during the second day of the Final Event in Susa near Turin at the TECNOSITAF facilities to present the two FABRIC Dynamic Wireless charging solutions and research prototypes developed in the Italian test site by POLITO and SAET partners accordingly.

1 FABRIC Website Privacy Policy

Analytics.iccs.gr is running the specialized software Matomo (https://matomo.org) for keeping usage statistics of the websites, it is hosting. Matomo is installed in the ICCS’s servers and its data remain in that server.

1.1 About FABRIC and Matomo

The FABRIC project is supported and co-funded by the European Union in the Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 605405. FABRIC assesses the technological feasibility, economic viability and socio-environmental impact of dynamic charging of electric vehicles (EVs). The basic project objectives can be summarised as follows: Development and testing of advanced dynamic, wireless charging solutions; Specifications for sustainable integration with road and grid infrastructures; Long-term socioeconomic impact & feasibility studies for large-scale deployment of dynamic EV charging.

The FABRIC website is hosted by the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) - http://www.iccs.gr. ICCS is a non-profit Academic Research Institute established in 1989 by the Greek Ministry of Education in order to carry out research and development activity in the area of telecommunication systems and techniques, computer systems, and their applications in a variety of areas such as transceivers, radar and generally electromagnetic sensors, satellite and wireless communications, electromagnetic phenomena modelling, software and hardware engineering and control systems.

Matomo is an open source web analytics platform. A web analytics platform is used by a website owner in order to measure, collect, analyse and report visitors data for purposes of understanding and optimizing their website. If you would like to see what Matomo looks like, you can access a demo version at: https://demo.matomo.org.

1.2 Purpose of the processing

Matomo is used to analyse the behaviour of the website visitors to identify potential pitfalls; not found pages, search engine indexing issues, which contents are the most appreciated… Once the data is processed (number of visitors reaching a not found pages, viewing only one page…), Matomo is generating reports for website owners to take action, for example changing the layout of the pages, publishing some fresh content… etc.

The Matomo software installed in ICCS webserver is processing the following personal data:

IP address
- Before storing, we mask the visitors IP, by masking the its last byte. Therefore, the IP cannot used anymore for the identification of its user.
Location of the user
And also:
Date and time
Title of the page being viewed
URL of the page being viewed
URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page
Screen resolution
Time in local timezone
Files that were clicked and downloaded
Link clicks to an outside domain
Pages generation time
Country, region, city
Main Language of the browser
User Agent of the browser

The processing of personal data with Matomo is based on explicit consent. Your privacy is our highest concern. That’s why we will not process any personal data with Matomo unless you give us clear explicit consent.

1.3 Recipient of the personal data

The personal data received through Matomo are sent to the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS).

1.4 Details of transfers to third country and safeguards

Matomo data is hosted in Greece.

1.5 Retention period or criteria used to determine the retention period

We are keeping the anonymized personal data captured within Matomo for a period of 5 years.

1.6 The existence of each of the data subject’s rights

As Matomo is processing personal data on legitimate interests, you can exercise the following rights:

Right of access: you can ask us at any time to access your personal data.
Right to erasure: you can ask us at any time to delete all the personal data we are processing about you.
Right to object: you can object to the tracking of your personal data by using the following opt-out feature:

The first results of the FABRIC project have been presented by Juan de Blas from Qi Europe at the IV European Electric Vehicle Congress, that took place in Madrid on 27 October 2017 during a session dedicated to European EV projects. During his presentation Mr. de Blas had the chance to give an overview of the already completed FABRIC charging prototypes, the testing that is taking place within the project in three different test site (France, Italy and Sweden) as well as the initial findings of the currently conducting feasibility analysis. FABRIC testing activities are expected to be concluded by 2017 and feasibility studies based on the test results will be finalised until the end of the project duration. These studies will reveal whether dynamic charging can be deployed in a large scale and what investments are necessary to do so.

An ICCS paper focusing on FABRIC Dynamic wireless EV charging system design for efficient e-mobility was presented during a poster session at the 30^th Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition that took place in Stuttgart, on October 9-11, 2017. The paper concludes that DWC has the potential of easing introduction of EVs to the market by supporting increase in EV range and driver comfort. Feasibility analysis performed within the FABRIC project, highlights the importance of a systematic approach to the associated charging while driving operations. Power electronic integration to demand side management optimisation is an example of system wide integration enabling added value services to both EV end users and the power grid. Similar findings in other domains such as billing, booking, payment and driver assistance systems have been identified and will be further presented and analyzed. Complementing dynamic wireless charging systems with services that target cost efficiency is essential in addressing increased charging infrastructure deployment costs.
